As oil and chemical spills pose a significant threat to the water environment, need develop efficient sorbent materials remove organic pollutants from has arisen. This study aimed simple modification scheme impart selective absorption capacity common three-dimensional porous material. Commercially available polyurethane sponges were used as base material, vinyl silica aerogel particles loaded onto using polydimethylsiloxane an adhesion agent. result, contact angle of modified sponge increased 118° 149.2°, decreased 106.5 g/g 0.2 g/g; it could absorb in oil-water mixtures without absorbing maintain excellent level ability after 20 cycles. is easy operate robust practical application.
